Senior Data Engineer - Saint-Gobain Nordic & Baltic – Stockholm or Copenhagen

At Saint-Gobain Construction Materials Nordic & Baltic, we are building a modern, cloud-based data platform to support data-driven decision-making across seven countries and three brands.
We are looking for someone who wants to help shape our architecture, data pipelines, and the way data is used throughout the organization. You will play a key role in developing scalable, high-quality data solutions that drive analytics and decision-making in areas such as sales, supply chain, finance, and operations — becoming a vital part of our journey from fragmented data to a unified, high-performing platform based on Snowflake.
Main Responsibilities
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines for our Snowflake Data Cloud
- Design and implement scalable and secure data models
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Optimize and automate data transformations using modern DevOps workflows (Azure DevOps, Git, VS Code)
- Collaborate with global and local teams to ensure data governance, version control, and quality
- Contribute to the design of our cloud-based data architecture and the development of our modern data platform
- Support the migration from legacy SQL Server environments to Snowflake
Your Background
We believe you are a problem solver who enjoys transforming complex data challenges into elegant engineering solutions. To succeed in this role, you likely have:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or backend data development
- Hands-on experience with SQL and cloud-based data warehouses (Snowflake is a plus)
- Experience working with Python and/or Java for data processing
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, and Visual Studio Code
- Experience in data governance and version control
- Understanding of business systems (ERP, CRM, PIM, etc.) – SAP knowledge is a plus
- Experience in BI environments (Power BI, QlikView/Sense)
- A relevant academic degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or similar
- Fluency in English and knowledge of a Nordic language
